This week is Dementia Week on BBC Radio 2, with broadcaster Jeremy Vine looking at aspects of dementia, as an illness and as a social problem.

On Monday, Jeremy was joined by Radio 2’s GP, Dr Sarah Jarvis to discuss whether dementia is preventable. Dr Jarvis looked at what things may contribute to dementia, including lifestyle and diet, and debunked some of the myths. They also talked about a dementia test, which is currently on the BBC Radio 2 website. The broadcast is available online, from here: BBC I-player link

Topics for the rest of the week include:
Tuesday: Caring For A Loved One With Dementia
Wednesday: I’ve Just Been Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s
Thursday: Is It Worth Visiting A Relative With Dementia, If They Don’t Know You?
Friday: The Financial Abuse Of Elderly People With Dementia
